Could you be our next magazine editor?
Funtington Parish Magazine
Every month our magazine brings local news, people, history and nature to households across the parish. To keep it going, we are looking for someone – or two people happy to share – to bring each issue’s content together.
Editor / Content Co-ordinator
This could be for you if you:
- enjoy hearing local stories and knowing what’s going on
- are curious about the parish’s people, places and history
- like working with words and would welcome the chance to develop your editorial skills
- want a rewarding way to get more involved in village life
What the role involves:
- Gathering articles each month from our regular contributors – there’s no shortage of material or ideas
- Finding new stories, events and local voices
- Reading and lightly editing pieces so they are accurate, readable and appropriate
- Meeting regularly with the small, friendly production team
What you won’t need to worry about (unless you want to): page layout, desktop publishing, printing and delivery are all looked after by other volunteers. You focus on the content.
Eleven issues a year (no August issue). Flexible, mostly done from home, in your own time.
Also wanted: magazine deliverers
Two or three people in West Ashling, East Ashling, Funtington and Hambrook to join our delivery team. Each round is 15–20 homes near you, once a month (except August). The magazine is free, so it’s simply a case of popping it through the letterbox.
Interested, or just curious? We’d love to hear from you.
